Privacy notice
Version v5, 2026-10-16
Draft. RFI may publish a new version of this notice. If a staff record is kept for your question or application, it keeps the version that was shown when you sent it.
This notice explains how RFI Network Telecommunication Inc. ("RFI Fiber", "we") handles the personal information you send us through Apply Online or Ask RFI. It follows the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
Who we are
RFI Network Telecommunication Inc., trading as RFI Fiber, is the personal information controller.
We decide why and how your information is used, so we are the personal information controller.
What we collect
When you use Apply Online or Ask RFI, we ask for:
- your name (or, for a business, the business name and a contact person);
- your mobile number and email address.
When you ask a question, we ask for your question. We do not ask for an address, birth date, plan or referral code in the Ask RFI form.
When you apply online, we also ask for:
- your birth date, if you are applying as a person (not for a business), so that we can tell whether you are already one of our customers;
- your address, including the province, city or municipality and barangay, a street line and the postal code;
- the plan you are interested in;
- an optional message;
- an optional referral or agent code.
We do not ask for an ID or any document when you apply. You must be 18 or older to apply.
We may also keep a short technical record of an attempt (for example the time and a check against repeated submissions) so we can stop spam and abuse.
Why we use it
- To answer a question you send us through Ask RFI.
- To check whether we may be able to serve your address.
- To check, with your name and birth date, whether you are already one of our customers, so we do not create a second record, and whether that customer has an overdue balance that needs to be settled before we set up new service.
- To contact you about your question or application.
- To set up service if you decide to go ahead.
- To record who referred you, if you gave a referral or agent code.
Checking an address is only a guide. It is not a promise that service is available.
Our legal basis
- Your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form.
- Responding to your request, including answering your question or taking steps before a contract such as checking your address and contacting you about a plan.
You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing does not affect what we did before you withdrew.
How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Stored submissions marked as spam or held because of throttling | 7 days |
| Forms we cannot record because the abuse-safety storage limit is full | We do not keep the form contents, a staff record or a technical attempt record. The short-lived website receipt shown in your browser is not proof that a staff record was saved. |
| Open questions or applications (New, Contacted or Qualified) | Kept while our staff handle them. There is no automatic deletion date until their status changes. |
| Questions or applications that are closed or not serviceable | Anonymised after 1 month: your name, contact details, birth date, street line, postal code, message, referral code and staff-written reasons are erased |
| Operational and statistical record left after anonymisation | We keep technical and application references, applicant type, area codes and names, coverage and plan snapshots, flags, consent and notice version, status and non-free-text history. These records have no automatic deletion date. |
| Applications that become a customer | Kept with the customer record, for as long as you are our customer and as the law requires |
| Technical attempt records we keep, used against abuse | 30 days |
Who sees it
If a staff record is kept, our Applications staff can see your question or application so they can handle it. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing by others. We share it with service providers only when needed to run our service, and only for that purpose.
Your rights
You may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you (access);
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to erase or block it;
- object to how we use it;
- withdraw your consent;
- complain to the National Privacy Commission (NPC), privacy.gov.ph.
To use these rights, use the Privacy contact section on our Contact page. We may need to confirm it is you before we act on a request.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice we will publish the new version here with its date. If a staff record is kept for your question or application, it keeps the version you saw when you sent it.
